Technology Transfert
Three GEONETCast stations are set up by International Calice
in Côte d'Ivoire

1. At the Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques (CSRS) for reaserch activities based, among others, on climate change, vegetation dynamics, bushfires, modeling agricultural yields, monitoring of grazing land for the sustainable management of livestock, etc.

2. At the Institut de Géographie Tropicale (IGT), Félix Houphouet-Boigny University, to train Bachelor, Master and Doctorate students.

3. At the Centre Ivoirien Anti-Pollution (CIAPOL),for environmental surveillance, particularly lagoon pollution, monitoring of the ivorian coastal areas.
Station GEONETCast
Setting up the GEONETCast station aims to improve and support data access capabilities, agrometeorological modeling, early warning, agricultural statistics, livestock monitoring, forest mapping, monitoring of lagoon pollution, bushfires, etc.

GEONETCast products
Indices and indicators of vegetation, bushfires and burnt areas, Small Water Bodies, temperature, reflectance, Actual ET, rainfall estimates, altimetry, sea level, etc.
Objective of GeoS-NetAfrica
GeoS-Africa was established by African experts and their partners with the main objective to contribute to strengthening capacities and to create platforms for the acquisition, harmonization, valorization and sharing of geo-spatial data for decision-making related to environmental monitoring in Africa.

GEONETCast is a low cost "global network of satellite-based data dissemination systems providing environmental data to a world-wide user community.

It is designed to put a vast range of essential environmental data at the fingertips of users around the globe."
In collaboration with GeoS-NetAfrica and its technical partners, GEONETCast reception stations for the dissemination of satellite-based data, images and products in near real-time, are set up in Africa, in Universities, Research centres, Meteorological, oceanic and atmospheric services, Environmental instituts, etc.
